Innovative pop/rock outfit Superchick has signed a long-term recording agreement with Columbia Records that also extends the band’s established relationship with Inpop Records. A revamped edition of the band’s 2005 Beauty From Pain, newly titled Beauty From Pain 1.1.

The original release Beauty From Pain debuted in May 2005, becoming a No. 1 Billboard Heatseeker and selling more than 150,000 copies. Long-time fan of Superchick, Grammy Award-winning Producer of the Year as well as Columbia Records A&R executive Steve Lillywhite heard the album, deciding to bring it and Superchick to the label....

“I never in my wildest dreams thought we’d be working with such an accomplished and celebrated producer,” comments Superchick’s Melissa Brock. “We’re excited that the album will be re-released because of its accessibility to so many people. We are still the same band and will continue to communicate the same positive message for anyone and everyone.”

Chicago-based Superchick comprises sisters Tricia Brock (vocals) and Melissa Brock (vocals, guitar), Matt Dally (bass, vocals), Dave Ghazarian (lead guitar, vocals), Brandon Estelle (drums, vocals), and Max Hsu (keyboards/DJ). The band’s eight-song demo became the core of Superchick’s 2001 debut album on Inpop, Karaoke Superstar. The band went on to release Last One Picked in 2002, Regeneration in 2003, and Beauty From Pain in May 2005. To date, Superchick has sold upwards of 450,000 albums.
